Dental Plaster is used mainly for flashing and mounting dental models. It can be mixed with a harder dental stone to adjust setting time and increase strength.

Remember that you must always follow the preparation, mixing, and health and safety warnings for a particular plaster as displayed on its packaging. This safety alert is to advise the potential risks associated with the setting of certain dental, casting and pottery plasters when making fully enclosed casts of body parts such as hands or fingers. Plaster, when mixed with water, gives off heat during its setting phase. This may result in serious skin burns if fully enclosed casts of body parts such as hands or fingers are being made.
