Applications Ideal for all residential, commercial, and industrial interior lining applications including the inside of exterior walls, wet rooms such as locker bays, bathrooms, toilets, kitchens, garages, and laundries (including tub surrounds). Also use in places requiring wet durability, impact strength, high stiffness or dent resistance, or secure wall furniture fixing capability. Also use as a single substrate for mixed surface finishes such as tile, paint, vinyl etc. USG Powerscape Health linings are engineered to resist impact damage and toxic mould formation, so as to keep looking good longer. Can be used adjacent to and joined to drywall or plasterboard of equivalent thickness.
Healthy Resistant to water absorption and penetration, and sound transmission. USG Powerscape Health linings resist toxic mould and mildew formation through a combination of high resistance to water absorption and other unique mechanisms. They achieve the maximum grade 10 in the demanding ASTM D3273 test for mould resistance. Use in conjunction with good wet area wall design principles for effective performance. Excellent sound transmission resistance - wall designs (see below).
Durable Resistant to impact, fire and termites. USG Powerscape Health linings have twice the impact resistance of equivalent thickness plasterboard. Compared with similar fibre cement systems, they are stronger and much easier to install and finish (and repair, if necessary). Joints are also much stronger than plasterboard and fibre cement. High fire resistance (see wall designs below).
Convenient Surface ready for tiles, paint or laminates. Simply screw fix wall furniture. Use tile, paint, vinyl and laminate with confidence, even all on the same sheet. Joint sheets like plasterboard. Wall furniture can simply be screwed directly into USG Powerscape Health linings (except fire rated wall systems). Permissible load 10kg in any direction per screw at the screw head (10mm thickness), 12kg (13mm thickness), and 15kg (16mm thickness). Good design practice is a minimum of two screws per fixture.
Environmental, Sustainability and Safety Environmental USG Powerscape linings are endorsed by Good Environmental Choice in Australia. They have also been awarded the Green Cross, and certified 95% or greater recycled content by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) - the leading independent environmental certifier in the USA. (Listing is under the American brand - Fiberock linings). See also Sustainability. Safety Free from known health risks associated with asbestos, synthetic mineral fibre, respirable crystalline silica, and formaldehyde.
Other Performance Standards and Tests Fire resistance: 30 minutes single layer 13m both sides, 60 minutes single layer 13mm both sides plus mineral wool in cavity, 60 minutes single layer 16mm both sides, 120 minutes double layer 16mm both sides. Shear bond strength: Exceeds ANSI Standard A118.9 for tile shear bond strength.

Wall Design - Fire and Acoustic The high density and unique stiffness of USG Powerscape linings result in excellent noise transmission reduction properties. Acoustic performance is similar to and sometimes better then that of special high density plasterboard products. The fire resistance of Powerscape lined walls generally equals that obtained with regular plasterboard, and is significantly better in terms of resistance to surface spread of flame due to the absence of a surface paper.
