After inspecting several dodgy do-it-yourself plastering jobs, Ipswich tradesman Adrian Lamond has urged those in the midst of a post-flood rebuild to do their research before attempting any work.

Mr Lamond, who has worked as a plasterer and carpenter in Ipswich and Brisbane for the past 10 years, said flood victims short on money could save by doing their own work, but warned that doing a botched job could end up costing thousands in repairs.

“What I have seen is people not investigating, not going through the installation manual or not getting the right advice prior to installing,” Mr Lamond said.
